Greensboro woman charged with insurance fraud
North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Precious Te-Aera Stevenson, 32, of 3904 Overland Heights Apartment Townhomes, Greensboro. Stevenson was charged with insurance fraud and obtaining property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Stevenson of obtaining $21,855 from State Farm Insurance Co. by filing a false renters’ policy claim for fire damage.
According to the arrest warrant, apartment management said there was no fire at the apartment complex.
