Recovery of Reportedly Stolen Vehicles 

In late March, NICB agents assisted multiple Indiana Law enforcement agencies with a search warrant execution. Law Enforcement had responded to an address earlier in the day on a shots fired call involving a domestic disturbance.  Two convicted felons resided at the address and additionally owned/operated a large auto storage business on the adjacent property. A search warrant was obtained in furtherance of the firearms investigation, which led investigators to observe two reportedly stolen Dodge, Chargers in plain view on the adjacent business property. A second search warrant was obtained to search the business property for additional stolen vehicles. The execution of the second search warrant and the examination of approximately 100 plus vehicles, resulted in the identification/recovery of twenty-two reportedly stolen vehicles, with an approximate total recovery value of $613,000.  The vehicles were found in an array of conditions, from complete vehicles, retagged, stripped, and dismantled. Recoveries included: Dodge, Chargers and Challengers; Ford, F-Series Trucks; Dodge, Ram Trucks; Ford Cargo, E350 and Transit Vans; Assortment of SUVs, Ford F750 Dump Truck, and a Freightliner Box Truck.   Two individuals have been arrested related to the alleged initial weapon violations. This investigation continues and additional criminal charges may be forthcoming.
