NICB Assists with Chop Shop Investigation

NICB assisted with a multi-agency operation where law enforcement served search warrants on three locations in Texas that were allegedly being used as chop shops for pickups and SUVs.  The NICB Agent provided expert vehicle identification knowledge to identify VIN-switched vehicles, other stolen vehicles, and numerous stolen vehicle parts.  The investigation resulted in the recovery of eight stolen vehicles, parts from 16 other stolen vehicles, and two VIN-switched vehicles.  Numerous other unidentifiable parts were also seized.  There were two arrests resulting from the investigation.  The investigation continues with additional arrests possible.
