Billion Dollar Insurance Fraudster Gets 15 Years

One half of Scottsdale’s high-flying, high-tech Bonnie and Clyde of insurance fraud received her sentence Wednesday, Oct. 7.

“I beg of you mercy,” Alexandra “Lexie” Gehrke told U.S. Judge Roslyn Silver.

Silver had some compassion – but still laid down a 15-and-a-half year sentence, roughly halfway between what Gehrke’s Atlanta-based attorney asked for and what the U.S. Attorney's Office advised.

Silver’s sentence includes a staggering $614 million in restitution.
