NICB Assists Law Enforcement with Vehicle Identification

Law enforcement requested an agent’s assistance with the identification of a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD valued at $61,500.

The pickup was a suspected clone based on the discovery of an alleged fraudulent Texas title submitted to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in another state.  The vehicle was reportedly verified to be on a Texas car dealer’s lot.  The NICB agent reviewed the information and conducted further investigation which assisted the confirmation that the Texas title was reportedly fraudulent.

As a result of the collaboration between the NICB and law enforcement, the vehicle was located and identified as a stolen 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD High Country that had been VIN-switched with a cloned VIN.  The vehicle was reportedly stolen from Houston and was member insured.
