Recovery home operator sentenced to up to 23 months in prison

A Philadelphia man will serve up to 23 months in federal prison for helping residents of his so-called sober-living homes obtain fraudulent insurance policies as part of a more than $100 million fraud scheme.
A U.S. District Court judge on Wednesday also ordered Muhammad, Abdul-Hadi, 34, to serve five years’ probation and pay $500,000 in restitution, according to Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, who participated in the investigation.
