Miami duo caught in Martin County: Alleged statewide catalytic converter theft spree halted

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Two people from Miami are accused of stealing thousands of dollars worth of catalytic converters.
The Martin County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) said the traveling thieves saga continues on Friday. Monica Parra and Pedro Vero, both 29, traveled to Martin County for their latest string of thefts.
However, the sheriff's office said its patrol helicopter was waiting, surveying the streets along with deputies.
After the two were apprehended, the sheriff's office said Parra and Vero are suspected of multiple catalytic converter thefts throughout the state. They caused thousands of dollars in damage and loss to area businesses.
Photos taken by the sheriff's office show multiple catalytic converters in the trunk of their vehicle.
When the two were arrested the sheriff's office wrote a poem as its news release.
The two were arrested and taken to the Martin County Jail.
