Embattled contractor pleads not guilty to 16 charges in Calcasieu Parish

LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) - An embattled home improvement contractor, who couldn’t be found for four months, was in court today to answer to multiple charges in nine cases.
Bobby Spoonemore stood before a judge in State District Court in Lake Charles. You don’t usually think of a manhunt for home improvement contractors, but in the case of Spoonemore, prosecutor David Pipes said there was what he called an active manhunt. This was after he failed to show up for court in May.
Since then, a lot of people wanted to see Spoonemore brought to court to answer multiple accusations, including issuing worthless checks, identity theft, contracting without a license, and residential contractor fraud.
