Decorated South Texas teacher charged in $323K wire theft scheme

A decorated South Texas high school teacher is facing felony charges related to a five-year-long theft scheme worth nearly $323,000.
Francisco “Frank” Borrego, 48, was arrested by Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Independent School District police on Wednesday, May 7, on one count of theft of property valued at $300,000 or more.
The charge is a first-degree felony that carries a penalty of between five years and life in prison, along with a fine of up to $10,000.
