Allendale County resident charged with insurance fraud
ALLENDALE COUNTY, S.C. (WJBF) – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has charged an Allendale County resident with insurance fraud.
According to SLED, 30-year-old Malik Javerite Morrell was booked into the Allendale County Detention Center on charges of Forgery – less than $10,000 and Presenting a False Claim for Insurance Payment on Monday, May 19.
Arrest warrants for Morrell alleges the incident occurred “on or about” August 29, 2023. Morell is accused of attempting to collect $7,875 in lost wages by falsifying documents.
This case will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Department of Insurance.
