New Video: NICB Agent Helps Solve International Crime

DES PLAINES, Ill., Nov. 25, 2019 — National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) agents work every day to assist members in locating, identifying, and returning stolen vehicles. Sometimes those requests come from outside of the United States.

In a newly released video, Leo Mens, a special agent with NICB, helped solve one of the worst heists in Albania’s history.

“Our agents are getting calls at all hours seeking assistance with identifying a VIN or help with a particular case. Investigations like this are what make NICB so unique. Our field agents are well-known for their expertise in vehicle identification and for solving insurance crimes. That experience, with support from an extensive analytical staff, coupled with NICB’s national and international law enforcement connections, makes NICB the unique organization that it is,” said NICB Chief Operating Officer Jim Schweitzer.
