Agent Assists Local Law Enforcement

An NICB agent recently assisted local law enforcement with an investigation into a person of interest the agent was familiar with from a previous investigation.  Law enforcement was investigating this individual for allegedly stealing numerous automobiles and then parting them out for profit.

The NICB Agent identified the investigation’s person of interest and identified numerous parts confiscated during search warrants executed by law enforcement at alleged chop shops under the control of the individual.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of the individual for theft over $300,000.  The NICB Agent was able to identify parts linked to 22 different stolen vehicles with a total vehicle loss of $662,060.  A total of eight member companies were affected.
